The Liebwerk story
At Liebwerk, we are dedicated to fostering a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Our journey began when we discovered bamboo toothbrushes at an exhibition and were immediately drawn to the idea of replacing everyday products with more eco-friendly options.
This inspiration led to the idea behind Liebwerk: our mission is to offer high-quality, sustainable products that simplify the transition to a more eco-conscious lifestyle, all while ensuring comfort and quality.

When we took a closer look at bamboo toothbrushes and quickly discovered that production in China, where the bamboo grows, had a few serious challenges. Bamboo is a fantastic raw material, but the production quality didn’t quite meet our high standards. Plus, the environmental impact of the long, high-emission transport route from China to Switzerland conflicted with our commitment to sustainability.
Stay local!
Looking for a better solution, we reached out to local toothbrush manufacturers in Switzerland to explore regional production options. We were thrilled to find our perfect production partner in Toggenburg. By opting for Swiss FSC-certified beech wood instead of Chinese bamboo, we are able to produce toothbrushes that not only meet the highest quality standards but are also manufactured sustainably and locally.

Since then, we have expanded our range to include a natural toothpaste made in Switzerland and are actively working to grow our network of retail partners. Every step we take reflects our commitment to providing environmentally friendly products that excel in both quality and sustainability.

Lars is an engineer and a passionate nature lover. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family and enjoys long walks with his dog. If his busy schedule allows, he can also be found at a rave. At Liebwerk, Lars is responsible for product development, sourcing and management.
Alem
Alem is a lawyer who loves listening to classical music at concerts at the Zurich Opera House. Married to Lars and friends with Letizia since university, Alem is passionate about the environment and pours her heart into marketing at Liebwerk.
Letizia
Letizia is not only a lawyer but also a passionate salsa dancer who loves to dance the night away. She finds inspiration in the rhythms of the timbales and piano. Beyond her dance moves, Letizia is also committed to environmental protection and leads the sales department at Liebwerk.
Lars
